The Men from U.N.C.L.E. played Bronte Bowling Club to celebrate the birthdays of Pat & Spark-E. And a big thank you to 3D TV for attending and providing such loud encouragement.
The gig was reviewed by Dr Igneous Kathexy's family:
This afternoon we went to Bronte Bowling Club to watch The Men from U.N.C.L.E. The drummer was very late in arriving, so they didn't start to play till about 5.20 (?) instead of 4 o'clock. The sound wasn't ideal as [Napoleon], who sounded so loud at Belmore Park, was sometimes drowned out. However, I was very impressed with the accompaniment from [Dr Igneous Kathexy] & [Col. Steve Austin]. The drummer was very good, but too loud. I thought the drummer was supposed to provide the beat, not be the dominant sound. … Bronte Bowling Club is a pleasant place. You can sit and watch people bowling, which we did, or, if you sit on the other side of the room, you can look out over Varna Park.
Sunday afternoon was very enjoyable, …. It was relaxing just to sit there, have a couple of beers, watch the bowling and listen to the band—a very interesting performance. I agree…that maybe the drummer could tone down just a fraction so we can hear [Napoleon] a bit better. The guitarists were excellent right down to the “style”.
Do you always wear such loud shirts?
